what to expect
This treatment protocol is the same for mole removal, skin tag removal and wart removal.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR MOLE REMOVAL TREATMENT
Before mole removal treatment
A doctor will assess your areas of concern and advise you whether further investigation (histology) is required. If needed, all the necessary arrangements can be made and occasionally patients are referred in order to confirm that there are no contraindications. We would advise patients to consult their GPs for advice prior to making a booking.
During mole removal treatment
Your doctor will first mark any lesion(s) to be removed and local anaesthesia will be given at each site. The laser is then used to cauterise each lesion. The entire procedure will be quick and comfortable.
After mole removal treatment
As there is no recovery period, you may leave the clinic whenever you are ready. However, the treated areas will look ‘scabby’ and much darker than the surrounding skin. These initial scabs will fall off within the first 5-7 days, after which secondary scabs will form and fall off within another 14 days. After initial healing period, the appearance of the treated areas will improved significantly and very light marks, if any, may be left behind.
Normally no stitches are necessary for mole removal treatment, wart removal treatment or skin tag removal treatment and chances of any scarring are negligible.
