At Perfect Image Consultants, we use our lasers to remove skin tags, wart or mole because it is a painless treatment and gives a perfect result. We believe these lasers are an alternative, more effective treatment than surgical removal, cryotherapy, radiofrequency or chemical methods.
Skins tags are soft, small growths that often form around the eyes, neck, armpit, groin or under the breasts. Skin tags are benign growths which cause great annoyance to many people. They often catch on necklaces, hair brushes of even the bra strap.
Skin tags are collagen fibres together with blood vessels that are surrounded by skin. They are harmless, however, if you find that they start to bleed from everyday activities such as catching on your necklace, it may be best to have this removed.
Skin tags are not contagious, they occur because of friction of the skin.
Your doctor will assess all your areas of concern of a skin tag and advise whether further investigation (histology) is necessary. If so, the arrangements can be made by us and occasionally patients are referred in order to confirm that there are no contraindications. Prior to booking an appointment, we would also advise patients to consult their GPs for advice prior to booking a consultation.
To begin, your doctor will mark the lesion(s) to be removed and local anaesthesia will be given at each site around teh skin tag. Then our laser will be used to cauterise each marked lesion. The whole procedure will be quick and comfortable.
As there is no downtime, you may leave the clinic as soon as you are ready. The treated area will look ‘scabby’ and be much darker than the surrounding skin. This first scab will fall off within the initial 5-7 days, after which a second scab will form and fall off within the next 14 days. After the initial healing period, the appearance of any treated area will improve and a very light mark, if any, may be left behind.
For skin tag removal treatment there will be no stitches and the chance of any scarring is negligible. While most of our patients don’t require stitches for mole removal of wart removal, this can only be determined once you have had your consultation.

There is a small car park at the Harvester restaurant which is at the rear of Roberts House or the St. Martins Approach car park alternatively you may park in any of the quiet, residential streets near the clinic without charge.
