What ‘after’ care is needed?

• Detailed post surgery instruction leaflet will be given to you.
• Over the counter painkillers may be needed.
• Return in 1-2 days to remove the drain.
• Return in 1 week for stitch removal.
• Elastic pressure garment to reduce swelling can be used.
• Usually needs a fairly long period before starting normal exercise regimes.
• Any concerns, ring us back.

Who should not have it?

If there are medical reasons, this should be established first. Avoid if there is a tendency for keloid scarring.

 

I may consider this surgery. What happens now?

• An initial consultation with our Surgeon is arranged to establish realistic expectations on both sides.
• Informed consent is taken after detailed explanation and examination.
• A consent form will have to be signed by you.
• Clinical photographs for before and after comparison are taken.
• Our Surgeon may wish to write to your General Practitioner to get details regarding your medical history and regular medication. He may also wish to write and inform the General Practitioner after the surgery is performed.
